The Shutecath Caluco Municipal Tourist Center created approximately 30 years ago, is a hot springs park that is fed by a river that has its source about 6 km from the town.
Shutecath is the most visited tourist center in the municipality of Caluco, department of Sonsonate, where it is. The name Shutecath comes from the river that feeds it and is taken from the Nahuat dialect, but the real meaning of the word is unknown, although some say it means place of snails.
Infrastructure improvements have been made to offer a more varied service, such as pools in the riverbed, protective borders with eye-catching designs, football fields, dining areas, and restaurants with local and typical Salvadoran cuisine.
Climate, Flora and Fauna in the Caluco, Shutecath Tourist Center
The climate throughout the municipality of Caluco is excellent most of the year, although there is a dry season with temperatures rising above 30° C on average. However, during the rainy season, everything cools down, and the riverbeds grow; therefore, in the Caluco Tourist Center, you can enjoy a pleasant tropical climate almost all the time.
